The ADVR-250 is an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) designed as a replacement for the Leroy Somer R250, for use in brushless generator systems. It accepts a sensing input of 85–140V AC (single-phase, 2-wire) at 50/60 Hz.
The ADVR-250 delivers a continuous output of 63V DC at 3.5A, with a maximum intermittent output of 110V DC at 5A for 10 seconds. Field resistance range is 18–100 ohms. External voltage adjustment of up to ±14% is available via a 1kΩ trimmer. Response time is less than 20 milliseconds. Soft start ramp time is 3 seconds. Maximum power dissipation is 8 watts.
The unit includes under-frequency protection with the knee point set at 48 Hz for 50 Hz systems and 58 Hz for 60 Hz systems. Over-excitation protection triggers at 5A ±10% excitation current. Internal EMI suppression filtering is included. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +70°C.
