The VR6 is a generic replacement Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) contained in an encapsulated plastic case, designed for conventional brushless generators operating at 50 or 60 Hz. It regulates the DC exciter field power by sensing the generator output voltage, converting it to a DC signal, and comparing it against a reference voltage signal.
The VR6 accepts sensing input of 180–280V AC at 50/60 Hz in single-phase or three-phase configuration. CT input supports 1 or 5A AC at 50/60 Hz. ACC input accepts ±3V DC. Output is 65V DC at 12A DC continuous. It supports both shunt-excited and PMG-excited configurations, with PMG input accepting 63–105V AC at 100/240 Hz (three-phase).
