ESD5500E Series | Speed Controls

The GAC ESD5500E Series speed control unit is an all-electronic device designed to control engine speed with fast and precise response to transient load changes. This closed-loop control, when connected to a proportional electric actuator and supplied with a magnetic speed sensor signal, controls a wide variety of engines in an isochronous or droop mode, making it the best way of governing a generator where strict control of engine speed is desired irrespective of engine load. It features switchable droop control, adjustable PID, idle speed adjustment, auxiliary accessory inputs, speed ramping, and soft coupling, helping save energy costs by regulating engine speed according to load requirements. It is compatible with any GAC actuator (throttle body, pump mounted, engine mounted, or universal), and its control system consists of a flywheel, magnetic speed pickup, speed controller, and actuator, comparing the desired speed to the speed measured from the pickup.
