The GAVR-8A is a single-phase, self-excited Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) designed for brushless generators. It regulates the generator output voltage by controlling the excitation current based on the sensed output voltage, maintaining stable power delivery under varying load conditions.
The GAVR-8A accepts a sensing input of 110/220/400V AC (single-phase, 2-wire) and a power input of 100–260V AC. Its output is a maximum of 90V DC at 240V AC input, with a continuous current of 3A and an intermittent current of 5A for 10 seconds. Load resistance range is 15–100 ohms minimum.
The AVR includes built-in under-frequency protection, with the knee point factory-set at 55 Hz for 60 Hz systems, protecting the alternator when generator speed drops below the set threshold. Voltage fine-tuning is available via an external ±7% adjustment using a 1kΩ trimmer. Internal EMI suppression filtering reduces electromagnetic interference at the generator terminals. Soft start ramp time is 2 seconds, and thermal drift is 0.03% per °C change in AVR ambient temperature.
